FAQs : Post-Graduate Diploma in Infrastructure Management (PGDIM)
1. Who is eligible to take up the PGDIM Programme? And, what are the
prospects?
Graduates in all disciplines of Engineering, including Agricultural Engineering & Architecture,
and Post-Graduates in other disciplines are eligible to take up the programme.
Every participant, who successfully completes the programme, will be a
formally trained full-fledged infrastructure professional, holding a coveted
university diploma, as well. This entitles him/ her to promising techno-managerial
positions in India’s surging infrastructure sector where there is
an urgent need for trained professionals.
2. Is the Programme full time or part time?
It is a full time day Programme.
3. What is the duration of the Programme?
One year. Eight months of class room contact programme and 4 months
of Project Work
4. How are the candidates selected?
Selection will be based on academic record, group discussion and personal
interview. Work experience will be given due weightage and sponsored
candidates also given preference.
5. Where and when will the group discussion and personal interviews
be held?
The group discussion and personal interviews will be held at Bangalore
from May 7, 2007 onwards.
6. Is the PGDIM Programme residential or non-residential?
This is a non-residential Programme.
7. Can the fees be paid in instalments?
Yes, the fees can be paid in 3 instalments
8. What is the duration of the project work and where will that be
undertaken?
The project work will be of 12 -16 weeks’ duration. It will be a
live project managed by one of the infrastructure companies/organizations.
9. Is the PGDIM Programme recognized?
Yes, of course. The Diploma is awarded by the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) of Karnataka. Besides, the curriculum has been developed in consultation with leading infrastructure organizations, respected academic and R&D institutions which are potential employers themselves. The PGDIM Programme participants will have the opportunity to work on live projects managed by these organizations, and the prospects for placement interactions could be promising.
